Inner
Thigh Lift
An inner thigh lift, also called a medial thigh lift, was
designed for women with sagging
inner thigh skin. Standing in front of a mirror, use your
thumb and forefinger to pinch the
skin of your inner thigh near your groin. Now lift it
upward. This shows the effect of an
inner thigh lift. Note that the improvement is greatest in
the upper half of your thigh and
least in the lower half. Women with loose skin of the knees
gain little improvement
from an inner thigh lift.
Lift Versus Liposuction
Liposuction makes one look thinner, while a lift makes one
look younger.
Liposuction reduces fat volume, but it may worsen the
appearance of the inner thighs if
the primary problem is loose skin.Inner thigh lift and
liposuction can be performed
together.
Inner Thigh Lift
Procedure
An inner thigh
lift removes loose skin and anchors the remaining skin to
periosteum of
pubic bone area. The scar will be in the groin crease and
will heal undetectably (Photo-
19). Women with markedly loose or hanging skin throughout
the inner thigh might be
advised to have skin removed in an ellipse from the inner
knee to the groin. This is called
a vertical thigh lift, which results in a more visible scar
and is usually reserved for
those with extremely loose skin.

Outer Thigh
and Buttock Lift
The outer thigh and buttock lift (also called buttock lift)
was designed for women with
sagging skin in these areas[Photo-20].
Outer Thigh and Buttock Lift Operation
The outer thigh lift and buttock lift is one procedure.
Prior to surgery, marking of the
areas of skin to be removed can be done by placing one hand
on the outside of each thigh
at the level of the hip and lifting them upward. This
demonstrates the effects of an outer
thigh lift. Placing hand above one buttock at the hip level
and lift it up.This shows you
the effect of a buttock lift.
This procedure is most commonly performed in conjunction
with abdominoplasty, as
women who have loose skin of the buttocks and outer thighs
nearly always have the same
problem with the abdomen. The combination of a tummy tuck
and an outer thigh and
buttock lift is sometimes called belt lipectomy, as the scar
is circumferential.After the
removal of loose skin, the remaining skin is pulled upward
and anchored in position with
sutures.

Total Body Lift
A total body lift includes a tummy tuck, an inner thigh
lift, and an outer
thigh and buttock lift. Surgery is extensive; however, the
results are gratifying in
properly selected patients[20]. The procedure time is five to
eight hours and hospital stay
will be 2 to 5 days. Patient might need
blood transfusion.Patient may return to sedentary
work in two to six weeks.
Arm Lift
An arm lift, also known as brachioplasty, involves the
removal of loose skin
from the upper arms. The removal of skin leaves a scar along
the inside of the arm from
the axilla to the elbow. An alternative option for those
with minimal excess skin involves
removing skin near the axilla only, thereby limiting the
scar to the axilla. When the main
problem is fat, rather than loose skin, liposuction is
recommended instead.
